Company History

Through generations, construction has been in the family.  It started with Gary’s father, who was a prominent homebuilder and remodeler for over 34 years.  He taught Gary the importance of performing high quality work at a competitive price.  Gary then used his construction knowledge to create his own company, where he would carry on the family tradition. Gary has since then been successfully operation GDS Construction for over 30 years.  

Gary's son Ryan Smith has worked for the company throughout high school and college.  During that time, Gary introduced Ryan to all phases of construction, which ranged from general office duties to framing room additions.  Ryan graduated from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business in 2001.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, Distribution Management, and International Studies.  With the integration of Ryan's general business knowledge and construction skills, we now have the ability to move aggressively into our niche market - High Quality Custom Remodeling.
